The Movies
Back to the Future (1985) Trailer
Threes movies were made - Back to the Future (1985), Back to the Future II (1989) and Back to the Future III (1990).
Starring Michael J. Fox (Marty McFly), Christopher Lloyd (Dr. Emmett Brown) and Thomas F. Wilson (Biff Tannen). Back to the future tells the adventures of Marty McFly and Dr. Brown through time (future and past) to help fix their family time lines in a DeLorean.
Initially Eric Stoltz was given the part of Marty McFlay and even filming began with him. Eventually Fox fired Stoltz and Michael J. Fox was given the part going on a whole new direction. Michael J. Fox had to reshoot to complete the first movie.
Even the original time machine considered wasn't the sleek space age looking DeLorean with its gullwing doors and stainless steel body we know of today. The original script called for a refrigerator to transport Marty through time. This was however shelved fearing kids would get trapped climbing inside a refrigerator.
I am glade and sure many fan out there are too the film makers decided to use a DeLorean instead, I personally would rather have a DeLorean as a collectible than a fridge.
