What to Watch on Disney+ Australian January 2025

Disney+ is kicking off the new year with an incredible lineup of shows and movies that you won’t want to miss. From highly anticipated new series to fan-favourite movies, January 2025 is packed with entertainment for everyone.


1 January

Alien: Romulus

"Alien: Romulus" is a chilling sci-fi horror thriller that returns the iconic Alien franchise to its terrifying roots. The story follows a group of young colonizers who, while scavenging the depths of a derelict space station, encounter the most relentless and deadly life form in the universe.


Starring Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu, the film is directed by horror master Fede Alvarez, with a screenplay by Alvarez and longtime collaborator Rodo Sayagues, based on characters created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett.


Produced by Ridley Scott—the visionary behind the original Alien as well as Prometheus and Alien: Covenant—alongside Michael Pruss and Walter Hill, Alien: Romulus promises to deliver pulse-pounding suspense and unforgettable terror.

Goosebumps: The Vanishing

"Goosebumps: The Vanishing" kicks off with fraternal twins Devin and Cece navigating life with their newly divorced father, Anthony. However, their world is upended when they uncover a looming threat, revealing that dark secrets lie closer than they imagined. As the mystery unfolds, Devin, Cece, and their friends — Alex, CJ, and Frankie — find themselves drawn into a spine-tingling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously disappeared in 1994. Together, they must confront the unknown in a chilling adventure filled with twists, danger, and the supernatural.

Abbott Elementary: Season 4

A workplace comedy that centers on a group of dedicated and passionate teachers — along with their well-meaning but somewhat clueless principal — as they tackle the challenges of working in the Philadelphia public school system. Despite being outnumbered, underfunded, and facing a less-than-ideal attitude from the school district, these educators remain committed to helping their students succeed. Through all the chaos, their love for teaching shines, even if the system doesn’t always make it easy.

Tracker: Season 2

Justin Hartley stars in TRACKER as Colter Shaw, a resourceful and determined survivalist who relies on his sharp instincts and a troubled past to locate the missing and claim rewards. With the support of lawyer Reenie Green (Fiona Rene), business handler Velma Bruin (Abby McEnany), and tech expert Bobby Exley (Eric Graise), Colter is relentless in his pursuit of justice, stopping at nothing to complete his mission.

High Potential

Written by Drew Goddard (“The Good Place,” “The Martian”), “High Potential” stars Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, a single mother with an extraordinary mind and an uncanny ability to solve crimes. Her unique talents lead to an unexpected and unstoppable partnership with Karadec (played by Daniel Sunjata), a seasoned detective who follows the rules. Based on the hit French series “Haut Potentiel Intellectuel (HPI),” High Potential also features Javicia Leslie as Daphne, Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Ozdil, Amirah J as Ava, Matthew Lamb as Elliot, and Judy Reyes as Selena.
